Summary
FluentCommunity is a WordPress community and course plugin from the makers of FluentCRM. Feed, spaces, real-time chat, polls, leaderboard, courses with quizzes: everything installs on your site, with a yearly licence ($199 for one site) or a lifetime one ($399), and a free version on wordpress.org.
LearnFloo covers the same foundation as a hosted service, and adds what a plugin doesn’t do: live sessions, webinars and video calls, a video studio, videos served by CDN, built-in payment, an AI assistant and an MCP server. Nothing to install or maintain, and no load on your server. The LearnFloo plugin for WordPress keeps your site as the shop window and connects your spaces to it.
The real difference: FluentCommunity puts everything in WordPress and you handle hosting, video and updates. LearnFloo brings you live sessions and video without growing your server. Stay on FluentCommunity if your community is small, without live sessions, and you already live in the Fluent ecosystem.
Community and courses: a close foundation
FluentCommunity grew a lot in 2025 and 2026: real-time chat and group messages, polls, leaderboard, badges, courses with drip content and advanced quizzes (fill-in-the-blank, matching, written answers), space pages readable by Google. It all runs as a single-page app inside your WordPress.
LearnFloo covers the same foundation and adds closer follow-up: a dedicated teacher per course with a private thread for each student, graded exercises, groups and classes filled by rule, full gamification (XP, levels, streaks, quests, challenges), an AI assistant answering from your lessons, and a Support mode with tickets.
Verdict: For a community with simple courses, both do the job. To follow learners closely, LearnFloo goes further.
Live sessions and webinars: what a plugin doesn’t do
FluentCommunity has no video calls, no webinars and no live streaming. To bring your members together, you need a separate tool (Zoom or other) and a link pasted in a post.
LearnFloo includes video calls (everyone on camera) and large-audience webinars, with StreamYard-style scenes, guests without an account, simulcast to YouTube or LinkedIn, live subtitles, replay with its chat and an attendance report. The live also sells: A/B tested on-screen offer, exit pop-up, registrant lead scoring.
Verdict: If your members meet live, LearnFloo saves you a Zoom subscription and a webinar tool.
Video and server load
With FluentCommunity, the videos and media your members upload land on your WordPress server, unless you set up external storage (S3, Bunny or R2, on Pro). Playback goes through FluentPlayer, another plugin. Real-time chat and the feed also draw on your hosting: the bigger the community, the stronger the host you need.
With LearnFloo, nothing goes through your server: videos are served by CDN, lives by dedicated infrastructure, and the studio records and edits in the browser (cuts, silence removal, subtitles, 9:16 clips). Your WordPress site stays light and fast.
Verdict: For a community that posts a lot of video, LearnFloo keeps your hosting from growing.
Keep WordPress, with LearnFloo
FluentCommunity’s strength is being inside WordPress: one site, your WordPress users, FluentCRM for e-mails, FluentCart to sell. If you already live in that ecosystem, it makes sense.
LearnFloo doesn’t ask you to leave WordPress. The LearnFloo plugin for WordPress connects one or more spaces to your site: your users enter the space without a second password, their WordPress roles carry over, and each space appears in the WordPress admin. Your site stays the shop window; community, courses, lives and video run on LearnFloo.
Verdict: You can keep WordPress and hand LearnFloo the heavy part: live sessions and video.
The real cost
The FluentCommunity licence is cheap: $199 a year for one site ($159 on promotion), $399 lifetime, and a free version. But the real cost includes WordPress hosting able to carry the community, video storage and playback, a video call or webinar tool, and the Fluent payment or e-mailing plugins if you need them.
LearnFloo is paid per space (€10 a month on the Essential tier, first space free if public) plus the actual usage of lives and videos, in prepaid credits, VAT included. Your members pay you on your Stripe with no commission (€30 a month per paid space).
Verdict: For a small community without live sessions, FluentCommunity is cheaper. As soon as you add lives and video, the comparison must count hosting and the tools around it.
